OFTW has been operating since 2014! In the past nine years we have accumulated so many useful resources to help chapter leaders. However, sometimes this trove of resources can be overwhelming. This page is a guide to our ten most essential resources that you will need to have a successful semester.

  1. Intro to One for the World deck
    1. This should be your go to slide deck for a kick off event, or for any time you need to introduce people to who we are and what we do!
  2. Conversation practice deck
    1. After new members have been onboarded, use this deck to do conversation practice with your whole team (including returning members).
  3. New member onboarding deck
    1. Use this deck to onboard new members. Organize a meeting and make sure that they all attend. Everyone should take the pledge at the end of this meeting in order to officially be part of the team.
  4. I give 1% sign
    1. Instructions for how to print/order the ‘I took the 1% pledge’ sign, OFTW stickers and flyers. These are essential for tabling, to making your table look enticing, legitimate and approachable.
  5. Our Nonprofits flier
    1. Print a few copies of this to have at your table for anyone who asks about the specific charities that we support. This is also useful to have as a reference for your tablers.
  6. Lead tracker spreadsheet
    1. This is the #1 most important tool for outreach. Use a lead tracker to keep track of everyone that you and your team reach out to. This helps to hold your team accountable and also ensures that follow up never falls through the cracks.
  7. Giving lunch deck
    1. This is a comprehensive guide to running a giving lunch, including pre-made slide deck and feedback form
  8. How to use Donational
    1. Watch this video to learn how to use Donational. You can also send this to anyone who is planning to take the pledge, to ensure they follow the process correctly.
  9. Answering tough questions
    1. You’ll want to review these as a framework for answering more nuanced or complex inquires when it comes to OFTW and global poverty.
  10. Expense reimbursement form
    1. We encourage you to buy food to entice people to your table. You can get reimbursed for these purchases by filling out this form.
